For the 2019-20 school year, Northfield High School will be emphasizing the family tour and open house models as the best ways for you and your student to learn about all we have to offer. In addition, we will have limited shadowing opportunities for students.
Open Houses will be held on October 24, 2019 and on January 15, 2020, from 6:30-8:30pm. At these events, we will present an overview of Northfield High School’s academic, athletic, and club opportunities, and then you will have the opportunity to visit several programs of your choice in breakout sessions to get a deeper understanding. There is no need to RSVP – simply mark your calendar and come on down – parents AND students are welcome!
Family Tours will be held weekly beginning on October 2 through January. Family tours will begin in the school library with brief presentation and then proceed with student, parent and/or staff volunteers leading a tour of our campus, stopping at classrooms. The tours will conclude again in the library, with administrative leadership on hand to answer any remaining questions.
You can sign up for a tour here. If tours are full, you can sign up here to be notified when we add dates in January. Also, be sure to check back regularly on the original sign up to see if slots open up as plans change.
Shadowing will be held on a limited basis this year, on Mondays from October through January. Due to the unexpectedly high enrollment this fall of 2019, especially at the freshman and sophomore levels, our current classroom capacity is limited. We are excited to expand into our new facility in the fall, but in the meantime we want to make sure that our current and prospective students have a comfortable and educational experience.
As a result, shadowing will be scheduled on a lottery basis, with preference given to families who live in the Northfield enrollment boundary, in the far Northeast or who have siblings at Northfield. The first phase of the lottery closed on September 29 for spots through December. We will hold a second lottery in December for January shadow spots. You can sign up for the Phase 2 lottery here. The Phase 2 lottery will close on December 8th.
Nighthawk Nights offer parents the opportunity to meet with Northfield leadership in a casual, evening setting at the home of a current or incoming Northfield parent, where administrators will answer any and all questions you have. It’s an adults-only event and there are just a few spots left. You can sign up here.
