Dance Teacher

I am a native Honduran, who moved to California at the age of 16. I know what is like to feel excluded when you don’t fit in, but with the help of teachers and classmates I was able to find myself, keep my identity and adapt within my new culture.

I have become a Latin dance teacher by love and coincidence, as my interest for social dancing and competing became part of my daily life in my twenties. I have been privately teaching and coaching Latin dance teams for about 14 years. I have lived in Colorado for the past 8 years, where I met my husband, whom I been married to for 5 years.

This will be my fifth year with DPS, I spent the first three teaching Spanish and Dance, and last year part time dance only. I have a bachelors in Business Management, I hold a Colorado teaching license and I am currently working on my Dance Masters through UNC.

No children, no pets, but both my husband and I love to travel. I am nervous but excited to join NHS because it is a bigger school than my last one, but I know I am bringing with me experience, love, patience, and most of all a positive attitude that all students are valuable and can learn discipline, self-esteem, and confidence through dance.
