I am so excited to be joining the staff of Northfield High School this year. This is my fifth year teaching US History and my first year teaching Debate. I am originally from North Carolina, where I attended Appalachian State University and earned a B.S. in History Secondary Education. I continued my education at Virginia Tech, where I earned a Master’s in History, with a focus on race and gender in US politics. After school I was the Unit Director of the Ray Warren Boys and Girls Club in Greensboro, NC. I then taught 8th grade US history in Farmville, North Carolina for three years before moving out to Denver for my husband’s work. I continued teaching 8th grade at Denver Discovery School last year. During the school year, I love spending time outdoors with my two dogs, crafting, cooking, and reading. Over the summers, my passion is for travel. My husband and I have backpacked through parts of Central America, Hong Kong, and Thailand.
