I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself as Mr. Plowden. Credit Recovery Coordinator at Northfield High School. I am looking forward to the 2018/2019 school year and having the opportunity to motivate our students to graduate and pass their coursework. This will be my 6th year in education I serve in numerous role in education within Denver Public Schools. I have Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science and Master Degree in Educational Leadership
One of my life heroes once said “Education is the key to unlock the golden door of freedom.” With that being said my philosophy of education is simple “Education” opens the door to a world of possibilities. As a Educator I see my role as a guide leading my students’ through past events and guiding to the future. I see students as builders and my job is to take them on this voyage to be productive citizens and causing change to better society. I want my students understand intellectually and emotionally their present lives are the results of Historical events created by imperfect beings like myself. There are three elements that are conducive to establishing such an environment: The teacher acting as a guide, allowing the child’s natural curiosity to direct his/her learning, and promoting respect for all things and all people.
I am not only a champion for education because of what I have learned. I am a champion because I know that all children are capable of success No Exceptions!
