Equity

Northfield High School is committed to equity in its operations, academics, athletics, hiring, and cultural practices. Our school community has worked collaboratively to create two detailed plans that will move us forward in our equity goals: Black Excellence and Si Se Puede. For more information contact Jessica Rodriguez Bracey or Reina Cruz.

Here at Northfield, we acknowledge that Equity work is never finished, but is a continuous learning process. We strive to create an environment that allows all students to find success and a place to belong. We embrace the feedback of our staff, students, and families to collaborate and imagine with us. If you have questions about our plans or anything in regards to Equity, please contact Reina Cruz.

Si Se Puede

Sí Se Puede—Yes We Can, is a call to action, rooted in historic Latino activism for social justice change. At Northfield, we want our students to recognize their immense diversity and feel that their cultura (culture) and traditions are valued within our school community. That we maintain people-centered values, inclusiveness, and a Bienvenido (welcoming) spirit. We want them to know that it is their destino (destiny) to be leaders in their community and that creating a community of leaders is essential to La Raza. We want our students to leave a legacy that is argulloso (proud), poderoso (mighty), and valioso (valuable).
