I’ve enjoyed being a part of the Northfield High School community since its opening in 2015! I serve as the multi-intensive special education teacher and support students’ growth and development in an inclusive setting that prepares them with the skills and knowledge to be successful, contributing members of their community. I received my Bachelor of Arts degree in Art and Education in 1990 from Muskingum University in Ohio. In 1994, I completed my Master of Education degree in Special Education from DePaul University. After teaching in Chicago Public Schools at the secondary level, My wife, Kelley, and I moved to beautiful Colorado. Working at the primary and secondary level in Littleton Public Schools for four years, I returned to the urban setting I enjoy and began my career with Denver Public Schools in 1999. Then I invested myself in the Dora Moore K-8 community in the Capitol Hill neighborhood as a special educator, experiencing generations of students. During this time, I acquired my principal licensure from the University of Phoenix in 2005 and later continued at Dora Moore as the assistant principal for four more years. Calling Central Park home with my wife and two daughters, Kaitlin (NHS Class of 2019) and Maggie (NHS Class of 2022), I enjoyed working in the neighborhood as the assistant principal of Westerly Creek Elementary in 2013 before joining Northfield. During my free time, you will find me enjoying all the outdoor activities that Colorado has to offer, such as fly-fishing, camping, and snowboarding with my family.
