The Northfield High School Boys Golf team wrapped up a milestone season by capturing their first-ever 4A/5A Boys City Championship. Determined by the lowest cumulative stroke count across all Denver Public Schools tournaments throughout the fall, the Nighthawks put together a series of steady, focused team performances to secure the title.
Under the leadership of Head Coach Ernest Jones Jr. and Assistant Head Coach David ‘Chili’ Rodriguez, Northfield established itself as the dominant force in the league, placing half of the ten available golfers onto the All-City Team rosters.
Leading the way for the Nighthawks was senior Reyce Wicks, who capped off a stellar high school career by finishing as the #1 ranked player in the conference and earning the title of Most Outstanding Senior. His consistency at the top of the leaderboard set the tone for the team’s championship run.
Joining Wicks in the post-season honors, four additional Nighthawks earned 2nd Team All-City recognition for their top-tier play across league tournaments:
