Major Changes for the 2026-2027 School Year
Campus Parking, Drop-Off & Pick-Up Procedures for 2026-27
Thanks to the voter-approved 2024 bond, we broke ground on a state-of-the-art 570-seat Performing Arts Auditorium and a brand-new Denver Health School-Based Clinic, both opening in Fall 2027.
Key highlights you need to know before Day 1:
The construction significantly impacts available campus parking spaces.
NO student parking on campus between 7:45 AM–4:00 PM.
Drop-off & Pick-up is strictly in the SOUTH loop ONLY (No waiting or parking on 54th Ave next to the school).
Walking, biking, and carpooling are strongly encouraged—plan for an extra 15 minutes!
Off & Away: Cell phones, smartwatches, wireless earbuds, personal laptops, and other non-DPS electronics must be powered off and kept inside backpacks/bags (not in pockets) throughout the school day.
Reaching Your Student: To reach your student during school hours, please contact the Main Office at 720-423-8000.
504/IEP Accommodations: Specific plan-approved accommodations will be honored and shared with staff. Questions? Contact Aoi Jackson (aoi_jackson@dpsk12.net).
Enforcement: Unapproved devices out during the day will be placed in classroom holders or turned into the Main Office for guardian retrieval/student pickup at the end of the day. Continued non-compliance will lead to formal school interventions.

Requesting a Schedule Repair
How to Submit: Fill out Schedule Repair Form. Requests via email or other channels will not be accepted.
Access Requirement: Students must log in using their DPS-issued Google account.
In-Person Help: Drop by the library during lunch or Final 30 (Tuesday, Aug. 25 – Friday, Aug. 28). No appointment needed.
Policies: Review the [Scheduling and Course Selection Policies] for approval guidelines.
Deadline: The form closes Friday, August 28. No late requests will be accepted.
Connecting with Northfield: DPS App & Rooms Messaging
We are excited to support streamlined family communication through Rooms, the direct messaging feature within the official DPS App!
Direct Teacher Messaging (Rooms):Rooms automatically connect parents to their student’s official schedule based on Infinite Campus records. If your student’s teacher chooses to utilize Rooms this year, their class announcements and direct messages will automatically appear when you log into the app.
School News & Calendars: Please note that Northfield High School is scheduled in the final phase of the district’s Content Management System and website platform migration. Because this transition is still underway behind the scenes, Northfield is not yet selectable in the app’s main school news feed or calendar drop-down menu.
Where to Find General Updates: Until our platform migration is complete, please continue to rely on the Northfield website and our weekly newsletters for all official campus announcements, event dates, bell schedules, and athletic updates.

Transitioning to a comprehensive high school is a major milestone. That’s why our incoming 9th graders spent four days on campus prior to the start of the school year—learning the layout, meeting their teachers and peers, and getting comfortable in their new home. With a 98% graduation rate, we know this early support sets the foundation for four successful years.

Please visit the Nurse’s page on our website for details about medications, consent forms and administration of the medications. We’ll share information about when/how to drop off medications as soon as it is available.
Health Support Available at Denver Health School-Based Clinics
Denver Health Pediatrics at Denver Public Schools provide school-based health centers (SBHC) that offer no-cost child and adolescent care. Services are available to any Denver Public Schools (DPS) student or sibling. These clinics offer convenient care that limits the amount of time students are out of class and parents/guardians have to be off work. Students can get same-day or next-day appointments.
Free Meals: 1 free breakfast & lunch daily for all students! (A la carte items require cash or MySchoolBucks).
YouBenefit! Form: Fill out your form via MySchoolApps online to support school funding and receive potential fee waivers.
Lunch Time: Grades 9–10 are encouraged to eat on campus (B1 & B3). If leaving campus, all students must return on time—tardies will follow standard discipline policies.
Meal Schedules & Menus: Breakfast opens at 7:45 a.m. in Building 1. Lunch runs 11:27 a.m.–12:07 p.m. (Stripe) and 11:33 a.m.–12:14 p.m. (Gold/Navy). View daily menus on SchoolCafe.

Denver Public Schools uses MySchoolBucks as its secure online system for managing student fees.
2. Save on Fees: Complete the Annual “You Benefit!” Form
Even though school meals are free for all students, all DPS families are asked to complete the annual form. Completing this isn’t just about school meals—it directly impacts your family’s wallet and school funding.
Submitting the form secures essential state funding for Northfield and can waive or reduce costs for your student’s athletic fees, course fees, AP/IB testing, and college applications.

Working Service Dog on Campus Supporting a Student This Year
Northfield High School will have a trained service dog on campus this year to support a student. Service dogs perform specific, essential tasks to assist individuals with disabilities and are working animals, not pets.
To ensure the service dog can safely perform its job, please review these required guidelines with your student:
🚫 Key Rule: Give Space & Do Not Distract
Do Not Touch or Feed: Never pet, touch, feed, or offer treats to the dog.
Do Not Distract: Calling, whistling, taking photos, crowding, or making noises to get the dog’s attention is prohibited.
Always Ask Permission: Check with the handler before approaching or speaking toward the dog.
Keep Personal Pets Away: Other animals are not permitted to approach the service dog on school grounds.
Assume the Dog is Working: Even when the dog appears to be resting, it is actively on duty.
Thank you for reinforcing these expectations at home so we can maintain a safe and supportive learning environment for all students.

Class of 2027 Senior Sunrise: Donations Needed!
Northfield is hosting our annual Senior Sunrise for the Class of 2027 on Tuesday, Aug. 25 starting at 5:45 a.m. While the Student Council is providing breakfast burritos and entertainment, we need our community’s help with additional snacks and drinks to celebrate our seniors.
Drop-Off: Please bring items to the football field around 5:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 25, or send them with your student.
Note: We know this is a big milestone for families, but please remember this event is for Seniors only.
First Day of School
Freshmen and New to Northfield Students
Monday, August 24 is the first day for all freshmen and students in grades 10-12 who are new to Northfield. Please note that Mondays are late start days and begin at 9:30 a.m. Students must have and wear a student ID. Any student who missed in-person enrollment will be issued a student ID this week.
Returning Sophomores – Seniors
Tuesday, August 25 is the first day students in grades 10-12. Students must have and wear a student ID. Any student who missed in-person enrollment will be issued a student ID this week.
All Students
Electronics must be put away as all personal electronic devices (PEDs) are not permitted during the instructional school day. Please take some time to review Northfield’s Personal Electronic Device Policy prior to the start of school.
