Hello Northfield! I was born and raised in Illinois (still can’t shake my midwestern accent) and graduated from the University of Illinois at Chicago with a degree in Teaching of History. Escaping the winter weather, I moved to Santa Cruz, CA., and then landed in Oakland, where I spent the past 14 years teaching U.S. History, Economics, Modern World History, and ELA support. While teaching, I completed my MA at the University of San Francisco in Museum Studies with a focus on history education. In 2021, I moved to Denver to be with my partner and his daughter. In my free time, I love to travel, read, explore conceptual synthpop, and cheer for the Golden State Warriors. The best part about becoming a Nighthawk is joining a community dedicated to excellence with a positive school culture and commitment to supporting all students.
