Coach Brad Howard has served as the head coach for the Northfield High School Nighthawk Tennis program since 2025. He brings a strong background in collegiate athletics to Northfield, having previously served as an assistant coach for the men’s and women’s tennis programs at Johns Hopkins University from 2007 to 2010. During his four seasons at Johns Hopkins, both programs were consistent Centennial Conference contenders and earned multiple NCAA Division III Tournament appearances.
Having coached at a university renowned for academic rigor, Coach Howard places a strong emphasis on balancing competitive excellence with classroom achievement. At the high school level, he uses this collegiate perspective to help Nighthawk student-athletes build the discipline, mental toughness, and technical skills necessary for high-level match play.
