Every year, Northfield partners with EF Tours to give students an exciting travel experience. I was able to go on the Japan trip over the summer and it was an unforgettable, unique and bizarre adventure. We traveled over to 5 different cities, Osaka, Kyoto, Kanazawa, Takayama and Tokyo, and with each destination, I was able to practice speaking Japanese with the locals and appreciate the beauty of their culture which is different from my own.
Being able to experience this trip with my friends was so wonderful. A few of my favorite memories included: exploring Takayama, Shibuya and Tokyo with them, walking into art museums showcasing the creative works of one of my favorite artists Hirohiko Araki, taking walks by the beautiful rivers, going on the bullet train, visiting amazing stores that showcased our favorite tv shows and movies and trying new food together. So many good memories were made in those 10 days.
I encourage you all to sign up for one of the many trips that Northfield has to offer. Not only are they really fun, but you learn more about yourself and the world around you. Through these trips, you build global empathy, learn how to problem solve and adapt to your surroundings and foster your independence. These trips help you develop the skills that you need for everyday life and from this, you become more confident in who you are.
I hope you all consider signing up for one of the trips and have as much fun as I did.

Congratulations to the Northfield High School Nighthawks girls softball team on securing the 5A All-City League Championship!
The Nighthawks rolled into Thursday’s matchup on an eight-game winning streak—and left with nine. Our team delivered a dominant 10-0 shutout against the Denver North Vikings to cap off an undefeated 8–0 league season under head coach Dave Supercynski. Big wins were a trend for the Nighthawks this fall, with 11 of the 13 victories coming by nine or more runs.
Congratulations to the coaches and our student-athletes on continuing Northfield’s championship tradition! Good luck as the team prepares for the regional postseason!

At Northfield, maintaining a safe and supportive environment for our students and staff is essential to everything we do. Next week, our campus will conduct a routine Lockdown Drill.
During a lockdown drill, students and staff practice securing classrooms by locking doors, turning off lights, moving out of sight, and staying quiet until an official clear is given. Regularly practicing these safety protocols ensures our campus community knows how to respond calmly and effectively in the rare event of an emergency.
We recognize that emergency drills can sometimes feel unsettling for students. Our school counseling and mental health team is always available to provide care and support before, during, or after the drill. If your student needs extra encouragement or someone to talk to, please encourage them to reach out to their counselor or let a teacher know.
Thank you for your ongoing partnership in keeping our school safe, prepared, and supportive for everyone!

Our Northfield High School Speech & Debate team is gearing up for competition! As an official CHSAA-recognized Academic Activity, Speech & Debate gives students a platform to represent Nighthawk Nation across the state while building real-world expertise. Competing under CHSAA, our team develops critical thinking, public speaking, and civil advocacy skills through competitive debate rounds.
This year, our team features 32 10th–12th graders enrolled in Honors Debate who specialize in Lincoln-Douglas (LD) debate alongside a variety of competitive speech events. LD debate is a one-on-one debate format. Because debaters must argue both the affirmative and negative sides in different rounds, it develops high-level skills in ethical reasoning, logic, quick counter-argumentation, and persuasive one-on-one public speaking.
How Tournaments Work:
Tournaments take place at high schools across Colorado on Saturdays from November through February, running from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM. Students compete in multiple rounds of speech or debate, judged by adult volunteers from across the state.
2026–2027 Tournament Schedule:
The Culminating Event:
All of these regular-season rounds build toward the CHSAA 5A State Championship Tournament, which will take place on March 6–7, 2027.
Interested in getting involved or supporting the team? Ninth graders can get started by enrolling in Intro to Debate, with expanded competition opportunities planned for future seasons!

Northfield is participating in the district-wide BESS survey to help us better understand and support our students’ social, emotional, and mental health needs. This brief, 5-minute screening—not a diagnostic test—helps shape classroom supports and school-wide wellness programs.
Questions? Please reach out to Assistant Principals Aoi Jackson or Dr. Reina Cruz. Thank you for partnering with us to support our students!

Are you or someone you know considering Northfield High School for your 8th grade student? Join us for our Prospective Parent Information Night! This event offers future Nighthawk families a comprehensive look at our campus, programs, and school community.
Because this event is always well-attended and on-campus parking is strictly limited due to active construction, we strongly encourage families to arrive early to ensure adequate time to park, enter, and be seated in the Main Gym before the 6:00 PM program start.
Can’t wait until November 4? Visit our Explore Northfield Webpage to dive into our school profile, program offerings, and prospective family resources prior to the event!

Fees for Art, Music and Theater have been applied. Please check your account for any assessed fees.

As construction continues on our voter-approved Performing Arts Center and Medical Clinic, construction personnel will no longer be parking on the job site. Thanks to this adjustment, our team was able to open up a limited number of additional on-campus parking spaces exclusively for Seniors in the North Parking Lot (by the Tennis Courts).
Because overall campus space remains significantly restricted due to construction, parking spots are very limited and we cannot accommodate every senior. To ensure equal and fair access, parking passes will be awarded via a lottery drawing.
Please note: Submitting an application does not guarantee a spot. Unclaimed passes after the 24-hour window will be offered to the next student in the drawing.
