Northfield’s MedConnect students recently learned about organ transplants through the Transplantation Scientists education program. Students had the opportunity to view organs such as lungs (of a former smoker), kidneys, corneas, and much more. They also engaged in collaborative activities to help with understanding about how organ transplants are performed and who is prioritized for transplants. HOSA club participants visited the Cadaver Lab at the Red Rocks Community College for a hands-on approach to human anatomy by visiting this interactive cadaver lab experience. MedConnect is a part of the school’s Career & Technical Education (CTE) pathway designed to expose students to careers in the medical field. Many students enrolled in MedConnect also participate in HOSA, a club devoted to furthering healthcare professional interest. Other CTE pathways at Northfield include Business and Computer Technology. Learn more about Northfield’s CTE Program.
