This week is Northfield’s 5th Annual Wish Week, a week devoted to Make-A-Wish Colorado. In past years, the Northfield Community raised more than $22,000.
Read the following note from Northfield Junior, Student Council Member and Community Service Chair, Sammy Kabat.
This year marks my third year at Northfield, as well as my third year involved with Wish Week. Each year, I’ve had the joy of learning the stories of our Wish Kids: Theresa, who needed a heart transplant at 3-years-old; 11-year-old Aiden who had a heart condition; and this year, 3-year-old, Disney-loving Ny’Lear, who is currently battling cancer. We hope to raise enough money to send him to The Most Magical Place on Earth. His love of Toy Story, singing, dancing and Skittles inspires the week ahead, including staff contests, dine and donate nights at local restaurants, spirit days and commemorative t-shirts available for the community with a suggested $15 donation. On Friday, March 1, Northfield will host Ny’lear and his family on campus during our Wish Week Assembly.
I am incredibly appreciative of Northfield for the partnership we’ve established with Make-A-Wish Colorado. Building relationships with people who share a similar goal of granting life-changing wishes for children with critical illnesses is a meaningful experience and one that will stay with me beyond my years in high school. Please consider making a donation to Northfield’s Wish Week efforts.
