Northfield HoCo 2024: Dance Details; Ticket Sales; Call for Chaperones

Posted September 12, 2024

Next week is Homecoming Week at Northfield! To help the Nighthawk Community get into the HoCo Spirit, we’ve prepared a comprehensive calendar detailing the week’s activities, including spirit days, the powder-puff and homecoming football games, homecoming dance and more. Please note, tickets to the HoCo football game on Friday, Sept. 20, at Evie Dennis, will be extremely limited due to capacity. We are finalizing these details now and will follow up with additional information once available.

Homecoming Week ends with the highly-anticipated dance on Saturday, Sept. 21, at Northfield, 7-10 p.m.! The theme is “Midnights.” Tickets are $15/ea and are available via MySchoolBucks. Ticket sales end on Friday, Sept. 20 at 4 p.m. Tickets cannot be purchased at the door. Due to limited capacity and a high emphasis placed on safety protocols, non-Northfield guests are not permitted to attend the dance

Upon arrival at the dance, students will enter on the south side of Building 1, where ticket purchases and physical student IDs will be checked. Screenshots and live images of Infinite Campus do not count as a student ID.

Start and Release Times
Building 1 doors will open at 7 p.m. Students should plan ahead for lines as Northfield staff and volunteers work to check in nearly 1,500 students. The dance ends at 10 p.m. Students should be picked up from the parking lot on the north side of campus accessible from 56th Ave.

Dance Guidelines
Students must show their physical Northfield Student ID to enter the dance; screenshots and live images of Infinite Campus do not count as a student ID. Students cannot bring in liquids or bags to the dance; only wristlets and wallets are permitted. The purchase of a ticket includes one drink and one snack to be redeemed in the outside tent. Students can bring cash for any additional concessions they wish to purchase.

In the event a student is suspected of being under the influence or in possession of drugs or alcohol, parents/guardians will be called immediately to pick their student up. Disciplinary action will follow DPS policies. Northfield High School reserves the right to search all students.

Student IDs
Students in grade 9 will receive permanent student IDs in English classes today and tomorrow; grades 10-12 will receive temporary student IDs over the next two days. Replacement IDs are available in the Main Office in Building 5 for $5, during Final 30. Students will not be allowed to enter the dance without their physical student ID.

Chaperones Needed
For Northfield’s Homecoming Dance to run smoothly, adult volunteers from the community are needed. If you are available, please complete the interest form. Northfield’s Student Council Advisor, Cole Ritter, will follow up with more information via email.
