Northfield HoCo Festivities are Just Getting Started!

Posted September 18, 2024

To help the Nighthawk Community get into the HoCo Spirit, we’ve prepared a comprehensive calendar detailing the week’s activities, including spirit days, the powder-puff and homecoming football games, homecoming dance and more.

Powder Puff

Northfield High School’s Annual Powder-Puff Game will kick off our homecoming celebrations on Wednesday, Sept. 18, at 3:30 p.m. on our field. Our junior and senior classes will face off in a friendly flag football match after school. All students are welcome to pack the stands to cheer on our upperclassmen. Students must bring their student ID to be admitted.

Northfield Foundation Parent Pep Rally

The 3rd Annual Northfield Parent Pep Rally is Wednesday, Sept. 18, 5:30-7:30 p.m. at the Stanley
Beer Hall! All Nighthawk parents/caregivers, teachers and faculty are invited to attend and get into the Nighthawk spirit! Tickets are $80 per person or $150 per couple. Get your tickets today! Each attendee receives two drinks, heavy appetizers and an NHS item. Northfield spirit wear is available for purchase during the pep rally; plus, appearances from the school’s nationally ranked spirit team and drumline (funded by the Northfield Foundation!). Money raised in connection with the pep rally benefits Northfield High School via the Northfield High School Foundation.

Student Pep Rally

To pump up the student body prior to the Hoco Football Game, Student Council, in collaboration with our Athletic Department, will host Northfield’s fall Homecoming Pep Rally on Friday, Sept. 20. We will follow a Modified Navy Schedule; the pep rally is scheduled between 6th and 8th periods. Students will make their way with their classes to the pep rally in the Main Gym via a staggered release and sit by grade-level. Students will show their Northfield pride by participating in the Spirit Day – Football vs Futbol – and actively engaging in the activities at the pep rally. During the pep rally, we will have a performance by Northfield Cheer and Pom, meet senior captains from all fall sports, celebrate the beginning of Hispanic Heritage Month, and announce our 2024-2025 Homecoming Royalty Nominees. Following the pep rally, students will attend their 8th period classes. This is a student-only event.

HoCo Football Game

We are excited for the upcoming Homecoming Football Game between your Northfield Nighthawks and the Pueblo East Eagles on Friday, Sept. 20, at 6 p.m., at Evie Dennis. The game is intended as a Northfield and Pueblo East event only; high school students who are not current students of these two schools will not be admitted. For the safety and enjoyment of all spectators, ticket sales to the HoCo football game are limited and sold online only. We do expect the game to sell out quickly. Review the complete details.

Homecoming Dance

Homecoming Week ends with the highly-anticipated dance on Saturday, Sept. 21, at Northfield, 7-10 p.m.! The theme is “Midnights.” Tickets are $15/ea and are available via MySchoolBucksTicket sales end on Friday, Sept. 20 at 4 p.m. Tickets cannot be purchased at the door. Due to limited capacity and a high emphasis placed on safety protocols, non-Northfield guests are not permitted to attend the dance. Upon arrival at the dance, students will enter on the south side of Building 1, where ticket purchases and physical student IDs will be checked. Screenshots and live images of Infinite Campus do not count as a student ID. Learn all the HoCo Dance details.
