The 2025–26 FAFSA® Form officially opened on Sunday, Dec. 1. Any high school senior, regardless of income, who wants to be considered for federal, state, and school financial aid programs, should complete the FAFSA. The form takes most people less than one hour to fill out; this includes gathering personal documents and financial information needed to complete it. Materials needed to complete the FAFSA include a username and password; parent/guardian contributor name, date of birth, social security number and email address; plus, income and asset information, if required.
