As we head into the final stretch of the school year, everything starts to move fast. Today gave us a moment to pause and bring our seniors together; a reminder that their time at Northfield is coming to a close and that something meaningful is shifting.
Next week, IB assessments begin. This is a big moment; an opportunity for our seniors to demonstrate what they’ve learned and earn college credit that can open doors beyond Northfield. It reflects years of hard work, persistence, and growth.
And alongside that, the moments they’ve been waiting for are here; prom, senior celebrations, and, soon, graduation. These are the milestones that mark the end of one chapter and the beginning of the next.
Families of seniors; this is the time to lean in. The weeks ahead will pass quickly. Pay attention to the small things, the quiet moments, and the “lasts” that matter more than we often realize in the moment.
We are proud of this class and all they represent. We’re looking forward to celebrating them, together, in the weeks ahead.

The Bobby G Awards (Colorado’s high school Tonys) recently announced their 2026 nominees, and Northfield is soaring! While the final ceremony isn’t until May, our program has already secured a major victory.
While other awards for acting or design are still being decided, the Bobby G team announced Northfield as the sole recipient of this honor. It isn’t just about a single performance—it’s about the entire culture of a theater program. It is awarded to a school that goes “above and beyond” in: This award proves that while our Nighthawks are talented performers, they are even better teammates and community members.
Individual Nominations

If your student has submitted hours but they have not been approved, it is most likely because the Activity Verification Contact has not confirmed the volunteer hours. This can usually be fixed by following-up with the contact and asking them to check their spam for an email from x2VOL.

“What drew me to Northfield High School was the ‘IB for All’ model; it represented an opportunity to teach at a truly rigorous, internationally-minded institution. Beyond that, I was eager to step into a leadership role within an already experienced and collaborative science department.
After 17 years in the classroom, I was ready to grow as an instructional coach. Northfield’s strong science team made it clear this was the right place to develop that skill set. I came hoping to help build on our already robust IB and PLTW science programs, while supporting all our students in reaching their full potential.
The professional support I’ve received, both as a teacher and as a leader, has been extraordinary. Our science department is filled with content experts and educators with diverse experiences, and that collaborative spirit extends to our entire instructional leadership team.
Honestly, I’ve never felt more valued as a teacher than I do here at Northfield. From day one, our administration and the Northfield High School Foundation have worked tirelessly to build a culture where staff feels genuinely appreciated and included. That foundation of support made integration feel natural and immediate.
The biggest shift for my classroom instruction since joining Northfield has been redesigning how I approach lesson planning—shifting my focus to ensure I’m truly meeting the needs of all learners in my IB Biology HL classroom. It’s been humbling and energizing.
The Northfield environment has pushed me to examine my practice critically and to embrace a growth mindset. Working alongside colleagues who are equally committed to continuous improvement has challenged me to be better every single day.
What I value most about Nighthawk culture is our collective belief that ‘good is never good enough.’ Whether it’s our athletics, arts, academics, or teacher leadership, there is a pervasive commitment to excellence.
To teachers considering joining our staff, I’d say this: You are applying to work at a school that genuinely values collaboration and will invest in your growth. Northfield doesn’t just ask you to be a good teacher—it empowers and challenges you to become the best teacher you can be.”

It’s our second annual pre-loved clothing drive/sale. We are currently collecting donations of pre-loved Northfield clothing to support our students.
