We are excited to welcome our new transfer students to the Nighthawk community! Join us for a half-day orientation on Wednesday, Aug. 12, from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Students will take a campus tour, meet school leaders and counselors, learn about academic expectations, and discover clubs and athletics.

Keeping our classrooms fully equipped and our staff supported is an essential part of launching a successful school year—and it simply doesn’t happen without the generosity and partnership of our Nighthawk families. We are deeply grateful for your continuous support in setting our school up for success.
Students can drop off donations directly at check-in when they arrive. Every student who drops off supplies the day of enrollment will be entered into a drawing for Northfield SWAG!
If students do not bring their essential supplies to in-person enrollment, they should drop them off in the main office the first week of school. Review the 2026–27 Northfield School Supply List before shopping.

Nurse’s Office
Please visit the Nurse’s page on our website for details about medications, consent forms and administration of the medications. We’ll share information about when/how to drop off medications as soon as it is available.
Health Support Available at Denver Health School-Based Clinics
Denver Health Pediatrics at Denver Public Schools provide school-based health centers (SBHC) that offer no-cost child and adolescent care. Services are available to any Denver Public Schools (DPS) student or sibling. These clinics offer convenient care that limits the amount of time students are out of class and parents/guardians have to be off work. Students can get same-day or next-day appointments.

School Meals & Lunch Expectations for 2026–27Thanks to Colorado’s Healthy School Meals for All program, all Northfield students receive one complete breakfast and one complete lunch every school day at no cost.
1. Pay Student Fees Online via MySchoolBucks
Denver Public Schools uses MySchoolBucks as its secure online system for managing student fees.
2. Save on Fees: Complete the Annual “You Benefit!” Form
Even though school meals are free for all students, all DPS families are asked to complete the annual form. Completing this isn’t just about school meals—it directly impacts your family’s wallet and school funding.
Submitting the form secures essential state funding for Northfield and can waive or reduce costs for your student’s athletic fees, course fees, AP/IB testing, and college applications.
All Northfield students are required to have their grade-level student ID on their person while on campus. Students will get their picture taken and will be issued an ID during in-person enrollment. Students are expected to wear them on the first day.
Replacement IDs are available throughout the year at a cost of $5.
Regular attendance has a direct correlation to high levels of student learning and students are encouraged to attend every class on time and every day of the school year. More information is available on our ‘Attendance’ page.
To excuse an absence:
-Write and deliver a note, within 24 hours of the absence, to the Main Office.
-Report an absence through the DPS Parent/Student Portal using Infinite Campus. (Instructions)
-Leave a message on the Northfield Attendance Line 720-423-8001, by 7:45 a.m. for each day the student is absent.
Northfield High School is affiliated with two spirit wear vendors. Stock up on school spirit through either The Northfield Foundation Store or BSN Sports.
On Fridays, Nighthawks wear navy and gold!
Parents and Guardians, enrollment season is in full swing, and we need your help planning for the upcoming school year!
If your student is moving on and will not be returning to Northfield for the 2026–27 school year, please let us know as soon as possible so we can support your transition and accurately plan our staffing and resources.

It’s officially time to mark your calendars! We are excited to announce that the Class of 2027 Graduation Ceremony will take place on Wednesday, June 2, at 1:00 p.m. at the University of Denver Ritchie Center. It may feel like there’s plenty of time, but graduation will be here before you know it. Get ready to celebrate this huge milestone!

Northfield’s Collaborative School Committee (CSC) is a vital part of our school community. The CSC advises on key decisions, helps allocate resources, and fosters collaboration among parents, teachers, and administrators. Serving on the CSC is a great way to actively contribute to the educational experience at Northfield High School.
We’ll be holding an election for open seats this fall, and we’ll share more details soon. If you’re a parent or guardian interested in serving, stay tuned—more information on how to get involved is coming shortly.
The Northfield Foundation directly supports our students and staff by providing annual scholarships, hosting Teacher Appreciation Week, and supporting specific events year-round. All parents and guardians are welcome to attend meetings and support these efforts.
