Ever since I first joined student council during my freshman year, my goal has always been to leave a lasting impact here at Northfield. Being elected into student council, no matter the role, is not just about what title you hold, but rather the impacts you make and how you can make every day better. The Northfield community has shaped so much of who I am, and every day I am reminded of why I chose to step into this role.
Coming to school should be so much more than just classes and assignments. This is where we find the passions that shape our future, create long lasting friendships, make mistakes, and discover who we really are. Whether student council is organizing school events, leading student initiatives, or reflecting on past years, our goal is always to make our campus feel like a supportive community. It has been so exciting to watch our school spirit grow over the past few years, but we can’t do it alone. Growth comes from all of us working together to bring energy to new (and old) traditions, and supporting ALL our school sports teams, theatre and music programs, and clubs to be the best they can be. This year, let’s keep this growth going by stepping outside of your comfort zones, lifting each other up, and simply making Northfield a place that supports us every step of the way.

Unity Run: In partnership with DSST, this colorful chalk run winds through the campus. Participation is optional, but everyone is welcome!
Quad Party: After the run, hang out on the Quad and try games hosted by teachers and staff! Enjoy Connect 4, Spikeball, Volleyball, Cornhole, Tug-of-War, Giant Jenga, or just chill in the quiet spot.

As we continue settling into the school year, we need your partnership in reinforcing two important schoolwide expectations:
1. Student IDs must be visible at all times.
All students are expected to wear their Northfield student ID while on campus. Please make sure your student has a lanyard or retractable badge holder so their ID can be easily worn and visible throughout the day. This is an important part of maintaining a safe and secure campus.
2. Personal communication devices must remain put away inside school buildings.
Cell phones, earbuds/headphones, smartwatches, and other personal communication devices should not be out or in use anywhere inside our school buildings, including during passing periods, off periods, and while in the library. Students should put devices away before entering the building and keep them stored throughout the school day.
When students enter class, devices will be collected at the door and placed in a secured phone locker or designated device bin for the duration of the class period.
These expectations apply to all students and help us maintain a campus that is safe, focused, and ready for learning. Please take a moment to review these expectations with your student.
Thanks to voters for approving the construction of two major additions to the Paul Sandoval Campus. The new performing arts venue and an on-site health clinic, both slated for completion in fall 2027. While the construction is temporarily reshaping our daily routines, parking, and traffic patterns around campus, these investments lay the groundwork for incredible new opportunities for our students.

Help restore the South Platte River by joining the River Sisters Congreso, community members, local partners, and DPS leaders this Sunday at Shoemaker Plaza (behind the Downtown Denver REI). The morning begins with a 9:00 AM prayer, followed by hands-on ecological restoration work uplifting Indigenous strategies and planning along the river.
