Meet Coach Tammy Campbell
The 2024-25 school year marks Northfield High School Coach Tammy Campbell’s sixth year leading the Nighthawk Women’s Volleyball team. Under her leadership, the team advanced to the first round of regionals for the first time in program history in 2021 and two players made First and Second All City teams; plus, one All State Honorable Mention. In 2022, the program added a freshman team and continued First and Second All City team placements.
Coach Campbell is a Colorado native who returned to Denver in 2015, after living in the Chicago Area since 1992 where she played volleyball at Northern Illinois University (NIU) as a middle blocker. She has a bachelor’s degree in communications and a master of arts degree in Sport Management. She was inducted into the NIU Hall of Fame with her 1993 teammates who made it to the second round of the Division I NCAA Tournament.
Her coaching experience includes eight years as a head high school women’s volleyball coach, as well as three years as an assistant coach at North Central College in Naperville, Ill. In 2015, Coach Campbell became the head coach for Denver’s Dive Volleyball Club, where she has coached players aged 16-, 17- and 18-years-old. She is passionate about the game of volleyball and enjoys sharing her passion and knowledge with young players so they can grow both on and off the court. Coach Campbell loves being a part of the Nighthawk family and is now a Northfield staff member as Dean of Culture.
