Hello Northfield! I’m Carina Sarmiento and I was born and raised in the Philippines. I am excited to be part of this beautiful and amazing community. I have been teaching Mathematics for almost 18 years. I went to Philippine Normal University and studied Bachelor of Science in Mathematics for Teachers, earned my Masteral Units and studied Master of Arts in Teaching Mathematics. I was given roles to be Grade Level Lead and Assistant Math Team Leader in Assumption College, Philippines. I love teaching and I believe that “But mathematics, real mathematics, is a subject full of uncertainty; it is about explorations, conjectures, and interpretations, not definitive answers.” ~Jo Boaler and Carol Dweck When not in school, I talk to my family in the Philippines, cook and explore Colorado.
