Leadership

I’m extremely honored to serve as the principal of Northfield. I was born and raised in Denver and currently reside in Green Valley Ranch with my husband James and daughter Nekoiya. I’m eager to contribute to and support the community that was my home throughout my leadership journey. I have 17 years in education, serving as an assistant principal, teacher on special assignment(TOSA), teacher, athletic director, coach, and educational assistant. During my time as a teacher, I was able to support my students in demonstrating some of the highest growth levels in the district. Through my leadership journey, I have developed a true understanding of classroom practices that reflect high levels of rigor, engagement, and adaptation to meet the needs of all learners; the strength community partnership brings; and the vital role leaders, teachers, and support staff play in collectively fostering environments of care, academic excellence, and value for all school community members. I am inspired to be a steward to my community by living a daily life dedicated to integrity, commitment, challenge and joy; and I look forward to using these attributes to support the Northfield Community. My educational credentials include a BA in Speech Communication from Colorado State University, teaching certification and MA in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Phoenix and Principal Licensure from the University of Denver. When away from work, I enjoy spending quality time with my family, trying new vegan food, serving in a kindergarten children’s ministry, and engaging in philanthropy with LatinasGive.
