Meet Coach Henry Kofa
Coach Henry Kofa has served as the head coach for the Northfield High School Men’s Wrestling program since 2023. Born in Ghana, Coach Kofa moved to the United States at age nine and began his wrestling career at Denver East High School, culminating in a CHSAA Colorado State Championship title in the 145-lb weight class during his senior year.
Coach Kofa continued his athletic career at the collegiate level, earning 2-time NJCAA All-American honors before competing at the NCAA Division I level in the Pac-12 Conference for Portland State University, where he studied Psychology and Criminology. Professionally, he works with high-risk youth through the State of Colorado Division of Youth Services.
Prior to taking the helm at Northfield, Coach Kofa spent a decade serving as an assistant coach at Denver East High School alongside his long-time mentor. Driven by a core belief that the best part of coaching is recognizing an athlete’s potential and inspiring them to see what is possible, he remains committed to building strong physical and mental resilience in Nighthawk wrestlers.
