The 2024-25 CHSAA winter sports season is just around the corner!
Tryouts and official practices:
Monday, Nov. 11 – Ice Hockey
Northfield High School offers more than 20 CHSAA-certified athletic options; unfortunately, ice hockey is not one of them. When a sport is not offered at a school, students are able to play for a nearby school’s team. Nighthawk student-athletes interested in trying out for the Denver East High School Hockey team, please complete the required steps by Sunday, Nov. 10. NOTE: CHSAA registration closes on Monday, Nov. 11; no registrations are accepted after the deadline. Players will NOT be able to take the ice for tryouts if they do not have a current physical on file.
Monday, Nov. 18 – Women’s Basketball, Men’s Basketball, Women and Men’s Wrestling and Women’s Swimming and Diving.

All student-athletes (or family) must create a one-time Family ID Account and use it to register for each season of athletic participation, as well as provide a yearly physical using the CHSAA Preparticipation Evaluation form, pay associated fees ($90/sport season; FRL-eligible students pay $25/sport season) and include an emergency contact. These items must be submitted prior to participating in tryouts or practices. Physicals are good for one year and can be obtained through a family doctor, a pharmacy or Denver Health School-Based Health Center.
