As part of DPS’ Career and College Success program, Northfield High School’s Career Navigation office ensures all students have equitable access to a variety of opportunities, such as our Xplore career exploration experiences, the Launch Internship program, and the Youth Apprenticeship. Programs like these expose students to a variety of career opportunities so they can understand their interests and strengths, plan their academic career, and gain psychological skills relevant to success in the workplace.
Career and Technical Education (CTE) enhances Northfield students’ high school experience by providing real-world skills and practical knowledge to prepare them for college and careers. Through relevant, engaging, project-based courses and experiential learning opportunities in Business, Computer Technology, and Biomedical Sciences, students receive hands-on training, mentoring and internships from employers in their community. CTE makes school more relevant, granting students the opportunity to graduate from Northfield High School with college credit (course dependent), industry experience, invaluable professional skills, and even certifications.
If you are interested in partnering with Northfield High School to support any of our career connect opportunities, contact either Northfield Assistant Principal and CTE Pathway Director, Mr. Adam Creapo, or Ms. Ursula Martin, Northfield navigator career and college success coordinator.
