One of Northfield’s most popular courses within the BusinessConnect program is INCubatoredu. During the course, the first program of its kind within DPS and only the seventh in the State of Colorado, students receive an authentic entrepreneurship experience creating and developing a product or service via the Lean Startup method, while being exposed to foundational business topics, such as marketing and finance. They begin the process with a problem ideation and progress to develop a minimal viable product, which they present at Pitch Day in the Spring. Learn more about the INCubatoredu curriculum.
Students interested in learning more about business, hone their skills in DECA. In three short years, Northfield’s DECA program has grown to be one of the largest in Denver Public Schools. Learn more about DECA.
Community involvement is key to the success of INCubatoredu@Northfield. Local business experts serve as volunteer coaches and mentors, offering real-world advice and expertise to student teams. They provide guidance as students move through the process of ideation, market research, and business plan development.
Program Sponsors help enhance INCubatoredu@Northfield by providing funding for field trips, additional class resources, Pitch Night, and student project investment.
Northfield students who participate with BusinessConnect are also members of the school’s DECA, debate and finance clubs.
