After an exciting career in national and international employee communications, media relations and marketing, I traded the corporate environment for a volunteer communications position at Isabella Bird Community School (IBCS) in the Central Park Neighborhood. Here, I had oversight for weekly school-to-home communications, deployed a school messaging app for staff and community, and served as board member on the IBCS Council. Eventually, after spending much of my day at the school, I became a paraprofessional helping in classrooms, building relationships with students and supporting staff; all the while as a freelance copy writer. In this role, I created content for an area marketing firm, real estate agents and more. I joined Northfield High School as a communications specialist in early 2023. As a Central Park resident, I believe in the importance of sharing our talents with neighboring schools to contribute to their success and to develop relationships with students and families who call the neighborhood home.
