I am so excited to join the World Languages Department at Northfield High School. I am joining the Nighthawk Nation with 22 years of experience teaching Spanish at the high school level. Much of that time was spent at Curie Metropolitan High School (in Chicago Public Schools). I also taught 1 year at my hometown school in Aledo, IL.
My husband and I moved to Denver the summer of 2022 because of our love for outdoor activities, including hiking, biking and camping. We also wanted to give our fur babies (three American Bullies) a bigger yard. I love staying active, so you’ll probably find me running, lifting weights, or maybe dancing. I enjoy reading, as well.
I fell in love with the Spanish language and its many diverse cultures when I started taking the course in high school. I continued studying in college, which included study abroad opportunities in Spain and Mexico. After college, I continued my studies and travel, and have been to Puerto Rico, the Dominican Republic, and Costa Rica, in addition to repeated visits to both Spain and Mexico. I love traveling with my family, as well as taking students abroad.
I have taught several different levels of Spanish, including Spanish 1 & 2, IB Spanish B Standard Level 1 & 2, AP Spanish Literature as well as the MYP and Ab Initio programs.
