Dear Northfield Community,
This week has been a reminder of the many emotions that come with being part of a large school family. At times, we are faced with moments that feel heavy and remind us of the importance of caring for one another and checking in on those around us. Our hearts are with members of our community who may be struggling, and we continue to hold them close.
At the same time, we came together in joy—celebrating our first Spirit Week of 2025. Students explored new opportunities at the Club Fair, finding ways to connect and “find their flock,” and we witnessed the excitement of our Unity Run, with students running side by side in celebration of community. These traditions always remind me of the energy, pride, and connection that make Northfield so special.
As a school leader, I often find myself holding both truths at once—the joy of celebration and the weight of challenge. This week has reminded me again what it means to be in community: that we show up for one another not just in moments of laughter and excitement, but also in moments that test our strength and resilience.
In the end, I am deeply thankful to be part of this amazing community. Thank you for continuing to care for each other, for checking in with your children, and for reminding them—and each other—that they are never alone. It is in walking together through both joy and hardship that we become stronger as a community.
With gratitude,
Jessica Rodriguez Bracey

All visitors must check in at the main office in Building 5. Please bring a government-issued ID and allow extra time to park, walk to Building 5, and complete the check-in process. You will receive an orange visitor sticker which must be visible while you’re on campus.
Regardless of economic status, all Northfield families are encouraged to complete the DPS YouBenefit! Application. By submitting your application, student fees may be waived or reduced, including those for athletics, College Board Testing, courses, activities, field trips and more. Northfield is eligible for added federal funding, in some instances.
Fridays are color days! Wear navy and gold and be a part of this casual tradition—whether it’s for a game, a club, or just hanging out with friends.
Northfield will be hosting the Denver Scholarship Foundation’s annual College Fair on Oct 14th from 6-7 PM in the Main Gym. Last year, 42 colleges and universities from both in-state and out-of-state institutions attended. College reps will be at the event to talk more about their college from academics to financial aid to general info about what it’s like to be on campus. The Denver Scholarship Foundation hosts this event and hopes you will attend. Register at https://app.strivescan.com/registration.
Seniors will explore competitive scholarships and academic programs—such as military academies, specialized art programs, and other selective opportunities—that have earlier deadlines and require extra materials. Learn tips for completing applications and strategies to make your submission as strong as possible.
