As we wrap up the excitement of Homecoming Week, it’s clear that the spirit, energy, and sense of community here at Northfield flow far beyond our campus—and even into the experiences our students have when they travel. One of the things that impressed me the most about coming to work at Northfield was the amazing travel opportunities that students have here. Last summer, I had the privilege of traveling alongside our students and staff to Australia and New Zealand, and it was truly an incredible experience. Watching students step outside their comfort zones, embrace new cultures, and grow in confidence was a powerful reminder of how life-changing these trips can be.
Whether it’s exploring history and culture abroad, learning leadership skills on service trips, or discovering new perspectives through exchanges closer to home, international travel offers students experiences they can’t find in a classroom alone. These opportunities help build confidence, curiosity, and a sense of global citizenship that lasts a lifetime. They also give our students a chance to live out the IB learner traits in real, meaningful ways—becoming more open-minded, reflective, balanced, and caring as they engage with the wider world.
We’re excited to share more about what’s ahead this year at Fall Travel Night on Tuesday evening from 6:30-8:00 pm. Families will be able to meet trip leaders, learn about 2026 and 2027 destinations, and ask questions about logistics, costs, and student safety. We will also be launching our inaugural Student Travel Scholarship program. Please RSVP here if you haven’t already so we can prepare materials for everyone.
Thank you for continuing to support our students as they explore the world—both near and far. We hope to see you Tuesday!

We’re thrilled to announce that 20 members of the Class of 2026 have been named National Merit Semifinalists, placing them among the top 1% of Colorado high school seniors based on PSAT/NMSQT scores. This distinction reflects their dedication, intellect, and hard work.
To advance to Finalist status, students must complete the scholarship application, maintain high academic performance, obtain a school endorsement, and confirm qualifying SAT/ACT scores. Our counselors are supporting each Semifinalist through this process.
While the National Merit Scholarship is $2,500, recognition opens doors to additional college and corporate opportunities to include tuition or even a full-ride scholarship. This achievement is a proud moment for our students, families, and the entire Northfield community.
Congratulations to our Semifinalists on this remarkable accomplishment!
Every Nighthawk matters! Our official count day helps determine school funding and resources, so it’s important that students are present. Let’s all show up and make our numbers shine!
Monthly statements are posted in MySchoolBucks—please check for any outstanding fees. Students must have fees paid to attend events like the Homecoming Dance. Families who may qualify for discounted fees should contact Vanessa Piria for verification and adjustments.
