At Northfield High School, our IB for All framework is designed to provide every student with the rigorous academic foundation necessary to pursue their most ambitious goals. Senior Elian Oliva has taken that opportunity and run with it—all the way to a 5.07 GPA and an appointment to the United States Air Force Academy.
In a recent feature by Denver Public Schools, Elian shared the mindset that has fueled his journey from Nighthawk Athletics to the national stage.
Elian’s success isn’t just about talent; it’s about a relentless commitment to “filling every second.” As the 2025 Denver Post Golden Helmet Award winner, Elian is recognized as the top senior football player, student, and citizen in Colorado.
His four years at Northfield have been defined by high-octane engagement across the board:
Elian’s drive, which he attributes to his family and his competitive bond with his twin brother, Joaquin, has led him to his next great challenge: an appointment to the United States Air Force Academy. Whether he pursues a career as a pilot or enters a pre-med program, Elian carries with him the Northfield belief that anything is possible when you are fully engaged with your passions.
“Follow your passions, but you need to be fully engaged and driven with those. Anything is possible if you set your mind to it.” — Elian Oliva
We invite our entire Nighthawk family to watch the video from Denver Public Schools of the inspiring story showing how Elian is proving that there are no limits to what our students can achieve. Click Here to Watch: Elian Oliva – Passion Meets Purpose
