My education began in my hometown of Las Vegas, Nev. After graduating from Clark County School District, I attended the University of Nevada-Las Vegas, where I studied Secondary Education with a concentration in Social Sciences. I spent three years at Cheyenne High School in North Las Vegas teaching World History, U.S. History, Psychology, and AP Psychology. I served as a Gay-Straight Alliance(GSA) Advisor and the head JV softball coach. My desire to grow as an educator drove me to pursue a Master’s Degree in Curriculum and Instruction at Kansas State University, and as a graduate teaching assistant, I supervised pre-service teachers. In 2015, I accepted a position teaching Social Studies at Junction City High School in Junction City, Kan., where I provided students with the opportunity to become actively engaged citizens by implementing the programs of We the People and Project Citizen in Government Courses. I also taught World History, Psychology, AP Government and Politics. I served as the GSTA advisor and worked with multiple curriculum committees. I am excited to be a part of Northfield High School because of the shared passion and enthusiasm that the whole school has toward creating a positive and passionate collaborative learning environment. I am ready to grow with Northfield in continuation of building relationships with students that help them find a path and purpose for their futures.
